CSE Engineering, Inc., is a control systems integrator with many
combined years of experience in combustion- and steam turbine-generator
controls and instrumentation. We are a Woodward 'Recognized Turbine
Retrofitter' and -Distributor, able to supply Woodward equipment and
control system packages as well as Woodward repair services and spare
parts. We have supplied controls-related maintenance- and forced outage
support to owners of GE combustion turbine-generators for over 10 years,
as well as steam turbine control system retrofit systems using Woodward
Governor Co. controls for many different manufacturers, and Distributed
Control System retrofits using Siemens Moore-APACS hardware.
In the course of supporting our Customers, CSE has developed a total
plant integration and HMI system package we call IBECS(tm). IBECS is
capable of communicating natively to many DCSs (including WDPF, Bailey,
Fisher-Rosemount, and others), and most PLCs (including Allen-Bradley,
GE-Fanuc, Siemens Moore-APACS, and others). IBECS can be used to develop
a single HMI interface to multiple control systems-including GE
Speedtronic(tm) Mark IV+, -Mark V and -Mark VI turbine control systems.
It can also be used to serve as a gateway between two or more control
systems, allowing them to share information and status. In addition, it
has long-term data storage and retrieval capability and can be used to
provide data to any ODBC-compliant software package, including
<ITC>(tm) is the GE Speedtronic communications-enabled version of IBECS.
<ITC> can be used to completely replace a Mark V <I> or HMI using a
commercially available, off-the-shelf ARCnet card and can be used to
monitor, control, and configure Mark V turbine control panels. <ITC>
does not require a PROMset upgrade as the OEM's replacement operator
interface does. <ITC> has a very user-friendly 'Realtime Rung Display'
which animates the Control Sequencing Program printout on the monitor.
When used to replace an <I>, <ITC> can be configured to duplicate <I>
displays--minimizing operator training and familiarization, command
targets have the same color and function and can be found in the same
location on screens with the same name and information as on the <I>.
Contact CSE for information on current installations of <ITC> and to
access a web-based demonstration.
